Just in case anyone hasn't seen this already www.lancashire.gov.uk/corporate/web/?siteid=5934&pageid=33966#anchor163029"the Local Authority does finance a team of support officers who have a qualified background in education and are therefore able to make a professional judgement that a suitable education is taking place, in order to fulfil the duty of the Local Authority." "The budget allocation for Elective Home Education was approximately £204,000"

And we've yet to find anyone who feels their child benefitted in any way.
Now's the time for the LA to take a close look at what their real aims are and whether or not they're going about them in the right way.
If they genuinely want to help our children, they need to change the way they work from inspections to genuine support, providing services and help where it's needed and leave law abiding families who don't want to engage with them in peace.
It's a pity they didn't stop to do it before recruiting new officers.
